  5. Get 1 cup maple syrup

Mix Sausage In a bowl, add ground pork, salt, garlic powder, pepper, sage, red pepper flakes and maple syrup along with apple mixture. Mix all ingredients together with your hands. Add remaining apple cider and mix again. Add the sausage and pan drippings to the stuffing cubes.

Steps to make Homemade Apple Sausage:
  1. Combine all ingredients in a stand mixer. Mix for 3 minutes at slow speed scraping sides and beater a couple times to ensure the meat is mixed very well.
  2. Seal with plastic wrap so it is air tight and refrigerate for 24 hours to allow the flavor to blend well.
  3. Using a sausage stuffer, stuff the casing size you prefer. And tie off into links of approximately 8 inches, less if using breakfast links.
  4. Seal in airtight freezer bags, and freeze for up to 6 months.

Add remaining apple cider and mix again. Add the sausage and pan drippings to the stuffing cubes. Melt the remaining butter in the pan. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Pour sausage mixture over bread in bowl.
